HERNE & BROOMFIELD BMX TRACK

Herne and Broomfield BMX Track is part of a project by Herne and Broomfield Parish Council to redevelop an ex-landfill site by transforming it into a small country park. This project has been ongoing for many years, but work has finally begun on the whole site and the BMX track itself is now 99% complete. It has been built to a Regional/National standard by legendary track builder Phil 'Hudu' Charnley, and is currently regarded as one of the most challenging and well designed in the country.

The track is now ridable but only at weekends due the fact that the rest of the area is still a building site. If you do decide to visit the site, please watch out for hazards and keep away from any construction machinery. The facility will unfortunately not be officially open until May 2008 and thus no official practice sessions will be held until then.

The track is located in Ford Road, Broomfield, Herne Bay.

Hersden BMX is a 4 rider 'play' track that was built by Steve Jenks/Trax in 2004 for Hersden Youth Centre. Hersden is a great track for riders to start learning BMX on as most of the jumps are relatively small. The track is completely fenced with the gate nearly always locked, but this is purely to keep motorbikes out so if you want to ride the track just throw your bike over the fence - the Youth Club don't mind. Hersden Youth Centre do run their own race series throughout the summer and the odd event around New Year so check our race dates page for details. The address of the track is: Hersden Youth Centre, The Avenue, Hersden, Canterbury CT3 4HX.
